Golden Notes and Marbleizing

Looking through the latest pages of Elle Decor I could sense there was an overwhelming theme featured. Golden tones where everywhere. Whether it be in rugs, upholstered chairs or curtains it was subtle and created a sense of luxury. Teamed with dark timber and lots of glass or mirrors it looks sophisticated and rather romantic. Not at all kid friendly. It would be destroyed in two minutes in our house.

Sorry that the pictures are not showing the furniture as being more golden rather than how they look in the mag. It looks rather beige and neutral.

Doris Leslie Blau rug.

The other thing to note in Elle Decor is the article on marbleizing. It has a real Missoni look to it with the colour palettes shown. I did like it but only in small quantities. It just looks a bit different and would cheer up a stark modern room.

I am a devotee of Elle Decor and find that it covers all styles. It really offers inspiration to everyone and anyone who has an interest in design. There is the most incredible outdoor room designed by Amy Kehoe/Todd Nickey. It is a mixture of styles and works so effortlessly. The yellow stools are just wonderful. Sorry I can't find a picture of it on the net but if you buy the latest edition of the mag it is on page 120.

Happy Friday. Can't wait for the weekend.
