Impact colours for your home

Kate Rosenfeld Design

A little colour goes a long way to making an impact. Love all of these photos for different reasons.

One more week of school and I feel like we are only going to just make it. We are one big tired family. What a year!

I started Christmas shopping this week and I am going by the motto GFC, GFC, GFC! Small but thoughtful.

Happy Friday and bring on the rain. My garden is in need of a soak.

Sheers, silk, linens - Oh my!

Curtains enhance a room. Whether they be solid heavy silks, sheers or beautiful linens. The design is really up to your imagination and taste and then you have to tie it all together with your furniture etc. Beautiful curtains really can make a room!

It is the start of a new week. My daughter finishes school next week and the boys both have a week after her. Christmas concerts, lots of birthday parties and break up parties. I need more hours in my day. Hope you are all enjoying November as it will be over before we know it

Some where to sit and ponder life

Cullman and Kravis

Sometimes we all need to just sit and have a little time all to ourselves. I have found and posted some lovely spots to sit and ponder life. I hope they inspire you to take some time out and indulge in the luxury of relaxation.

We are having a blissfully quiet day today. My beautiful mother is coming to stay for three nights so we are all very excited.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Blue and White Rugs

Recently I was compiling a list of some of my favourite rooms.  When I stuck them all into one document I noticed a common theme. Most of the rooms had blue and white striped rugs. Interesting!

Nearly everyone is familiar with the amazing styling done in the movie Something’s Gotta Give. I have longed for the large windows, beautiful spaces and effortless style that are featured in that home. The blue and white rug is essential to bringing the whole room together. It is obviously a very large rug as it extends into the reading corner. I wonder if they found the rug and worked from there or whether the rug was inserted once the larger pieces of furniture were sourced?

Stay tuned as I will add more photos of my  blue and white rug obsession.

Another Friday. It is crazy busy in our house at the moment.

Heat

This sudden blast of blistering hot weather is revolting. As much as I love the beach, I relish cold weather. At about 2.30 yesterday my car showed that it was 38 degrees. The kids were hot and tired when I picked them up and I felt sorry for them to be in sticky uniforms.

I thought that these cute little cocktails might take the edge off this hot weather.

Hope you all can do something today that allows you to stay inside.

A little more blue and white

My daughters Academic Awards Ceremony was on last night. It was a wonderful evening with amazing musical pieces. My little one sang in the choir and I got goose bumps. I was so very proud of how the little ones coped with such a long day. We didn't get home until 10pm so she was very tired.

The end of the year is starting to get to me. I am so busy that I really am struggling to keep on top of where I am supposed to be and at what time. I am on roster at my youngest's Kindergarten today. We are making Christmas decorations which should be a lovely distraction from all the mayhem around me. The littlest is very excited that I am spending the day with him.

Hope you are all having a good week.

Outdoor spaces to enjoy

With this beautiful weather we are thinking of ways to better enjoy our time. I have just a few photos to look at but they all make you want to go outdoors with a great book and enjoy the moment.

Happy Saturday.
